BRATISLAVA, February 7, (WEBNOVINY) — The Slovak intelligence service SIS has acted in the Gorilla case in compliance with laws since 2005 until now. Chairman of the Parliamentary Special Control Committee for the Control of Activities of the Slovak Intelligence Service, Robert Kalinak (SMER-SD), informed reporters on the outcome of the committee’s session on Tuesday. In his words, it is the police that should now make the next move. “At this moment, nothing obstructs the police force to investigate this case based on disclosed information,” Kalinak stated. „A larger scope of information can be neither confirmed nor denied and I believe that it is sufficient for the police to verify individual sentences, acts and circumstances,” he noted. According to the ex-interior minister, it will be important for the police to have free hands, while politicians should not meddle in the investigation.

Director of the intelligence service SIS, Karol Mitrik, attended the meeting of the committee, as well. He provided “relatively extensive information“ on SIS’ activities in the case. However, he did not say a word to journalists. Kalinak highlighted that the session was marked as secret, which is the second highest degree of classification. Therefore, he could not say more.
