BRATISLAVA, August 4, (WEBNOVINY) – Former economy minister Lubomir Jahnatek thinks that the new government is lying to Slovak citizens if it obliges not to privatize strategic companies and at the same time wants to denationalize heating plants and the remaining shares in companies with state participation. “What does it mean to denationalize? Isn’t it actually privatization?” asked opposition SMER-SD Deputy Jahnatek in the parliamentary discussion about the government program statement. Therefore, according to him, citizens should get ready for the fact that the new Cabinet will permanently lie to them.
“You managed to do a unique thing from 2002 to 2006. You stole and sold all strategic companies in Slovakia, predominantly in the energy sector,” Jahnatek told the current government. He warned that the sale of heating plants will necessarily lead to the increase in the price for heat for the population. “All investors will want their costs invested in privatization back as soon as possible,” he pointed out.
Jahnatek further said that the Cabinet of Iveta Radicova wants to return before 2006 in rules for provision of investment stimuli. “You want to again prevent home entrepreneurs from applying for an investment stimuli,” he said. The new government should rather develop the current system of the investment stimuli’s provision. Jahnatek thinks that the government statement also includes good solutions, which were, however, taken over from strategic and conceptual materials of Robert Fico’s Cabinet. “Sometimes this is called plagiarism,” he added.
