OMSENIE, August 3, (WEBNOVINY) – The program statement of the new government in the area of judiciary does not contain a single step to speed up court proceedings, increase enforceability of the law, improve creditworthiness of judges, bring centers of legal assistance to poor regions, fight against usury, or increase employment of prisoners, stated Supreme Court President Stefan Harabin in regards to the program statement and the Judicial Council approved this position at its Tuesday’s session. Harabin plans to present his objections in parliament.
The Cabinet and Finance Minister Ivan Miklos want to achieve personnel changes, economically take over the Supreme Court, and liquidate him from the post as Supreme Court President, according to Harabin. “I can assure Mr. Miklos that he will not threaten me like Hitler did not threaten Supreme Court judges in Norway, either. I will not be intimidated,” Harabin declared.
