BRATISLAVA, March 31, (WEBNOVINY) — The U.S. company Honeywell International Inc. will create 446 jobs altogether in Presov with assessed average earnings of EUR 1,300, Financial Director of Honeywell’s Transportation Systems Department Peter Bracke told journalists Thursday. The Presov plant will offer work to experts with various specializations. The company wants to start the first personnel recruitment at the end of this year or at the beginning of the next. The company will also provide professional training to workers for some positions. This investment plan of the company Honeywell presumes better opportunities for people with a university degree, better use of state-of-the-art technologies as well as establishment of a research center. The company will closely cooperate with technical universities in Presov and Kosice.
The company chose Slovakia and Presov for its investment mainly because it was met here with prompt and constructive communication at the governmental and local levels, reasoned Bracke. He said that Presov County can offer the company a labor force with a high standard of technical qualification as well as logistical support. The Cabinet’s stimuli and the city’s helpfulness offer the company all prerequisites for competition in this environment.
Minister of Economy Juraj Miskov has officially handed over a written decision on the investment assistance of the state at EUR 19 million to the representative of the investor. Cabinet approved the investment incentives for the company on Wednesday. The minister said that Cabinet wants to support creation of new jobs so that people do not end up in the social system. The present Cabinet has granted three stimuli to foreign investors since it took up office. Miskov assesses a return from these incentives within 1.5 to 2 years. The Cabinet intends to improve the business environment and support new investments mainly with higher added value and in regions with a high jobless rate. Miskov confirmed that Honeywell meets both of these criteria.
