BRATISLAVA, May 28, (WEBNOVINY) — Recently elected chairman of SDKU-DS Pavol Freso gave a news conference in Bratislava on Monday at which he apologized to voters for the collapse of the government of Iveta Radicova in October 2011. He said he regrets the collapse of the government of Iveta Radicova and that he wants to apologize to voters for it and at the same time to promise that the new leadership of SDKU-DS, if they gain trust of the people and return into government, they will never let it be destroyed by scandals and internal squabbles. In his opinion, the biggest weakness of parties in the right part of the spectrum is their inability to govern together and scandals.
For November 17, the anniversary of the Velvet Revolution, SDKU-DS will prepare a program conference, so that the party does not have just a general policy line, but a clear program that it wants to achieve. „We want to defend the interests of those whom we once abandoned, doctors, teachers, junior level managers, nurses, that is, the middle class. They have to know that they can rely on us at any time,“ he said. Freso announced that SDKU plans to submit a draft bill to parliament to make life easier of sole traders. He believes they will manage to formulate it in a way that it will be difficult for the socialists in government to reject it. The party will also defend the second pension pillar against government intervention.
Freso also commented the departure of Daniel Lipsic from KDH. „SDKU-DS has a clear vision. Lipsic says he it is just looking for one,“ he remarked, and offered Lipsic consultations on a political vision. He added that Lipsic is a capable politician, however, even today he does not know whether he would establish a new party. „Any not very clear fragmentation of right-wing parties hurts me. We want the people to get a center-right alternative,“ he said.
