BRATISLAVA, July 4, (WEBNOVINY) — Three parliamentary center-right opposition parties, KDH, MOST-HID, and SDKU-DS on Wednesday agreed to cooperate on Europe affairs as well as domestic political issues. „Common principles, proven long-time collaboration, membership in the European People’s Party, and similar views on how to address social, economic and cultural issues of citizens not only in Slovakia but also on European soil, are a good precondition for cooperation in response to the challenges that our citizens, Slovakia but also the whole of Europe face daily, “ said the chairmen of KDH, MOST-HID, and SDKU-DS in a joint statement after their talks.

The forthcoming government measures such as raising taxes, levies and various fees, according to the opposition leaders, will burden citizens, reduce economic growth, and increase unemployment. The tree opposition parties will therefore seek joint initiatives that will offer real solutions to the problems of citizens, particularly at parliamentary level, which can be the basis for cooperation with other opposition parties. „Our goal is natural collaboration of parties whose values and programs are close, that would not merely raise expectations, but will bring tangible results,“ concluded Jan Figel, Bela Bugar and Pavol Freso in their statement. The party leaders met in parliament for approximately two hours to agree on future cooperation.
