BRATISLAVA, February 9, (WEBNOVINY) – There were too many lies, politicking and slandering aimed at the prime minister, PM Iveta Radicova evaluated Thursday the election term after the last parliamentary session before the March 10 early race. The last two years have given her a lesson that ethics in politics is sometimes more important that reforms. Radicova regrets that her government has not been able to fulfill commitments from its program statement though many of them have been prepared.

Despite failures, Radicova does see her ruling as fiasco. “We have started many tools that can restore trust in politics and politicians,” she named one of the achievements. She believes that Slovakia and its citizens mainly need renewal or restart of trust in politics, politicians and a country respecting rule of law.

The outgoing prime minister thinks that the next election term will not be easier than the one that is coming to its end. “If somebody is saying that Slovakia will go through an easier period, it is not true, it is impossible,” she stated. Radicova wishes that after elections, power will be taken by responsible politicians who know what a country ruled by law and lawfulness are and who know they cannot perform their posts and politics at the expense of future generations.

The prime minister drew attention to the fact that some politicians with a lust for power are literally lying to citizens already before elections. “I cannot perceive without a comment quasi fighting for an increase in the minimum wage funded by very rich people, impossible-to-meet requirements and empty promises,” she explained. She added that every politician wants to be popular but the key factor is always the limits of the actual performance of economy.
