BRATISLAVA, May 11, (WEBNOVINY) — Slovak Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister Miroslav Lajcak and Hungarian Ambassador to Slovakia Csaba Balogh agreed on Friday in Bratislava on the need to deal with all outstanding issues between both countries in a cultivated bilateral dialogue. In their shared opinion, this dialogue should be based on partnership and openness and at the same time should not traumatize society in both countries and cause uncertainty to our partners and allies in the region, the EU and NATO. This statement was circulated to the media by the press department of the Slovak Foreign Affairs Ministry following the meeting of the Hungarian ambassador and the Slovak foreign affairs minister.

Minister Lajcak and Ambassador Balogh positively evaluated the results of the meeting of Prime Ministers of both countries, Robert Fico and Viktor Orban in Warsaw at the end of April and expect the meeting of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Slovak Republic and Hungary on June 1 in Budapest to be in a similar spirit. Both representatives confirmed their interest in good and constructive neighborly relations between Slovakia and Hungary, with emphasis on development of cooperation in Europe, social-economic and infrastructure areas.
