BRATISLAVA, August 4, (WEBNOVINY) — The Slovak National Party (SNS) is calling on Interior Minister Daniel Lipsic (KDH) to step down because Slovakia starts suffering from damages he is responsible for. SNS First Deputy Chairman Andrej Danko specified at his news conference on Thursday that he has on his mind judges who are now winning their discrimination lawsuits over their salaries lower than those of judges of the former Special Court dealing with corruption, which was established when Lipsic was justice minister before 2006.
If Lipsic does not step down on his own, the SNS hardly can recall him in parliament, said Danko. “Fico’s ex-interior minister and Lipsic are pals, Danko complains. I see friendships and Kalinak and Lipsic giving each other a tap on the shoulder. Nobody of SMER has courage to take on Lipsic as SNS does. „There is nobody on the political scene to ally with against Lipsic as everybody fears him. Lipsic wants that all fear him,’ said Danko.
Lipsic is an expert on everything, according to Danko. He criticized him for lacking the court practice alleging that he was in court only as a monitor at best. When he was at the helm of the Slovak justice system, he has brought animosity there and started quarreling with judges. He has stirred tensions among judges ad now their lawsuits are catching up with him, which is how judges show him who has better understanding of the law, said Danko. According to him, the creation of the former Special Court was not a wise step and Lipsic now has been punished for it.
According to Danko, Lipsic’s achievements as former justice minister were practically zero. He had promised to speed up court proceedings but with no result while the Specialized Criminal Court deals only with minor problems, said Danko. He accused Lipsic of exchanging the justice department for the department of the interior as he did not manage the justice ministry in the past. According to Danko, Lipsic brought the same animosity also to the interior department. He accused Lipsic of instructing Police President Jaroslav Spisiak by telephone to recall inconvenient police directors or tyrannizing police officers with his friend, activist businessman Alojz Hlina. Danko cannot imagine that he would be fined a mere 120 euros for speeding, exceeding the speed limit by 28 km/h. He alleges that Spisiak’s speeding incident was nothing but a PR stunt. At the conclusion of the news conference Danko urged Lipsic to behave like a man and resign.
