BRATISLAVA, December 8, (WEBNOVINY) — Dobroslav Trnka, Slovakia’s Prosecutor General, says that the investigator dealing with the case of a wiretap of voice similar to the voice of opposition SMER-SD chairman Robert Fico, was under pressure. According to Trnka the investigator was ready to dismiss the case. “… Because the evidence and interrogation, which were carried out in the presence of the special prosecutor show that it is nothing but a delusion,” said Trnka at a news conference on Wednesday. “Ask the investigator whether she was visited by Dr. Lipsic (the Minister of Interior — SITA note), by Dr. Zilinka (Interior Ministry State Secretary — SITA note) or by Dr. Spisiak (police President — SITA note). Ask those people, under what pressure they work,” said Trnka, noting that it was not him who devastated either the police or the Slovak judiciary. He did however not disclose any further details, claiming he had not seen the decision of the investigator. He only has a verbal information from the special prosecutor.

Shortly before the parliamentary election in June, the SME daily published an audio recording showing that secret donors probably poured at least 75 million Slovak crowns into the Smer-SD party several years ago, bypassing the official accounts. KDH Vice-chairman Daniel Lipsic, who attached the recording to older criminal filing on financing Smer-SD, confirmed its existence. At a special press conference, Robert Fico said that the recording is a fake and nonsense. A voice, according to SME similar to the one of Fico, can be heard in the recording. “I then will also talk to other people without needing to speak to them at all costs. I can only say that, I hope nobody is listening, I provided 35 (..) for this year and approximately 40 (…) for next one, plus other things. I have provided it, I mean the money, with my own head. Officially it will arrive and will normally be covered in the party. The fact that Fedor [Flasik — SITA note] was around at that time cannot mean that I will be held by my balls, that can not happen. That is one of the reasons why I made some decisions regarding these funds. I have emancipated from Fedor and have told him: Fedor, I put my head into this and not you used your head for this, so from now I will be deciding on some things. Even though, I think that some kind of parallel financial structure has to be developed, which has to be available for the purposes of the election campaign and for some other stuff,” says the voice in the recording.
