The Slovak-Ukrainian Vojany-Uzhgorod gas pipeline has dried up after natural gas shipments through the gas pipeline have been interrupted for the second consecutive month, while the daily natural gas shipments exceeded 1 million cubic meters in January and February 2020. However, traders are not interested in using the gas pipeline for the time being. „Currently, there is no significant demand for gas shipments in direction to Ukraine. On the contrary, due to the market situation, natural gas exports from Ukraine were higher that imports,“ Pavol Kubik, a spokesman for the Slovak natural gas carrier, Eustream, informed the vEnergetike.sk portal. Eustream ascribes this lack of interest in natural gas shipments from Slovakia to Ukraine to above-average levels of gas storage facilities in our eastern neighbours.
