The state-controlled company Vodohospodarska Vystavba has failed to select a supplier in an international tender after roughly one-and-half-year.
The largest Slovak hydropower plant in Gabcikovo is still waiting for its general overhaul. Even after one-and-half-year, the state-controlled company Vodohospodarska Vystavba has failed to select a supplier in an international tender. In 2015, then Prime Minister Robert Fico talked about the urgency of this general overhaul. Stela Istvanfyova, the head of the Director General’s Office at Vodohospodarska Vystavba, informed the portal vEnergetike.sk that the tender for the general overhaul had not yet been completed. In early 2019, the state company informed that the tender would be completed in the first quarter 2019. “Tender participants have not yet answered all the questions concerning bid prices,“ said Istvanfyova. Vodohospodarska Vystavba cannot say when the tender might be finished. “We wish to complete the tender as soon as possible, however, we are unable to speed up the evaluation process which is being carried out by the professional committee as it is difficult and time consuming,“ Istvanfyova said.
