According to the Nuclear Regulatory Authority, Slovenske Elektrarne is carrying out a comprehensive investment program using the latest technologies in order to stretch the life span of two nuclear blocks in Jaslovske Bohunice.
The nuclear blocks V2 in Jaslovske Bohunice are far from ending up on the scrap heap. Slovenske Elektrarne (SE), the operator of the nuclear power plant, is working on the long-term operation of these nuclear blocks. Their life span is expected to stretch to 60 years, until 2045. „Slovenske Elektrarne is carrying out a comprehensive investment program applying the latest technologies,“ said the Nuclear Regulatory Authority (UJD) in the National Report of the Slovak Republic drawn up under the Convention on Nuclear Safety that the government acknowledged on Wednesday. Originally, the nuclear blocks in Bohunice V2 were designed for thirty years, until 2015.
