Engineering manager of the Mochovce project Slavomir Vinkovic says that the completion of the third and fourth nuclear unit in Mochovce have encountered ordinary problems that may occur anywhere in the world.
Slovakia’s dominant electricity producer Slovenske Elektrarne (SE) rejects any doubts over the safety of the two nuclear units in Mochovce that are under construction. „Safety is a priority for Slovenske Elektrarne, in regard to nuclear installations as well as other sources. Today, we have heard a lot of lies and half-truths,“ General Director of Slovenske Elektrarne Branislav Strycek responded to the doubts presented by the non-Parliamentary party Progressive Slovakia in connection with the safety of the third and fourth nuclear unit in Mochovce on Thursday. At the press conference, all officials who worked and still work at the nuclear power plant Mochovce assured about the present and the future safety of new nuclear units in Mochovce. „We may guarantee that the project meets all safety criteria once the power plant is put into operation,“ director of project management Peter Andrasko said. „We have confronted with ordinary problems that may occur anywhere during the construction. If I had been aware of some serious safety obstacles, I would have stopped working on the project a long time ago,“ engineering manager of the project Slavomir Vinkovic added.
