Czech energy holding EPH and Italian Enel declined to comment on ongoing talks.
Negotiations on the sale of a 66-percent stake in Slovenske Elektrarne continue. Italian company Enel, which has put up its stake in a Slovakia’s dominant electricity producer for sale, has been holding exclusive talks with the Czech energy company Energeticky a Prumyslovy Hoding (EPH) for more than a month. For now it seems that the talks will carry on for some time. Neither the Czech energy holding EPH nor Italian Enel wanted to comment on the situation. Italian investor refused to say whether another candidate, Slovnaft Bratislava together with Hungarian MVM Group, has still a chance to fight for Slovenske Elektrarne’s shares. In addition, Enel has not informed whether the Chinese company China National Nuclear Company (CNNC), which monitored the situation directly in Slovenske Elektrarne and officially considered the purchase, has eventually submitted the bid.
