Sebastian Kurz wrote on the social network that he wants to prevent from the completion of the nuclear power plant in Mochovce.

Slovak Prime Minster Peter Pellegrini sharply responded to the statements made by Austrian chancellor Sebastian Kurz on the social network about his intention to stop the completion of the nuclear power plant in Mochovce. “Although we are accustomed to Austria declaring a holy war on nuclear power plants, I consider the statements that he will do everything to stop the construction of the nuclear power plant in Mochovce, in my opinion, to be something that where he oversteps his powers and tries to intervene in sovereignty and decision-making of the Slovak Republic,“ Pellegrini said. He emphasized that the construction of the nuclear power plant is our autonomous right. “I reject Austrian chancellor sending us messages through social networks. I understand that he must engage in his national politics, I understand that he must respond to the sentiment of Austrian citizens, but it is my duty to protect the interests of the Slovak Republic and not let any authority of another state intervene into our autonomous decisions. I would like to ask Austrian chancellor not to abuse this topic to gain national political capital,“ Pellegrini emphasized.
