Following gas price increase for Ukraine by Russia in January 2016, Ukraine has increased gas imports from the European Union. Gas imports via Slovakia to Ukraine have doubled over the last hours.
Over the last hours, Ukraine has doubled gas imports from Slovakia, Ukrainian transport monopoly Ukrtransgaz informed on Friday, according to the new agency TASS. Over the past 24 hours, Ukraine has imported 27.1 million cubic meters of natural gas from Slovakia, while it was only 11.4 million cubic meters on January 13. According to the import request for Friday, Ukraine will pump 26.9 million cubic meters a day from Slovakia and 1.4 million cubic metres from Hungary.
